Another early morning fog. We were 8 boats ready to go at 7:00AM, couldn’t see the river through the fog. We called the lock, and the lockmaster said he couldn’t see the river downstream, so we waited until the fog cleared. We finally got under way at 08:15. When we got to the Whitten Lock we had to wait for an up bound tow. The Whitten Lock has an 85’ drop, the biggest on the Tombigbee WW. We entered the lock at 9:05, departed at 09:40. We entered the Montgomery lock at 10:44 and departed at 11:15. We were slowed down by the tow “Ginger Moller” and entered the Rankin Lock at 12:50. 1:22 we departed the Rankin Lock and tied up at the Marina by 2:00. The marina here is small, has several covered slips, about 6 transient slips, a small convenience/beer store/tackle shop.
